Product Manager for a Engineering Co. in Pune, 13 - 18 years exp, Pune

1. The candidate must possess relevant manufacturing industry experience.

2. The candidate will have the following Key Responsibilities;


a. Product portfolio management of existing portfolio. Study competition offering and devise counter strategies.


b. Conceptualize new value propositions to ensure that the company is optimizing its opportunities through delivery of powerful, differentiated, products or group of products. Support regional and segment marketing activities.


c. Ensure profitability of the new products:


i. Drive translation of market requirements and needs into detailed product definitions (including form, fit, function, cost, certifications, installation and more) that create differentiated products which deliver measurable business value to the market and drive revenue growth


ii. Decide break-even point


iii. Margin finalization


d. Working directly with other central business functions;


i. Product planning : New product introductions


ii. Application identification


iii. Pricing strategies


iv. Sales tools/communications


v. USP : feature/benefits analysis


vi. Competitive positioning for assigned PG products, components and market segment portfolio


e. Monitor progress of projects and rescheduling if necessary in consultation with departmental head


i. Setup processes for project management, design productivity monitoring, product testing & validation etc. with the help of App. Engineering.


f. To analyze product performance at market place Co. vs. competition


i. Ensuring trials to resolve non-performance if any & establish sustainable solutions


ii. Ensuring design reviews and design modifications, if required


g. Ensure techno - commercial support to various vendors for new product / equipment development.


h. Ensure that all design output meet the input requirements and to ensure cost effective research and engineering


i. Provide data required for cost estimation of new development in comparison with the existing product


ii. Incorporate changes in design suggested by various departments / customer requirement received through marketing


iii. Overseeing Trials of alternate material / products for cost reduction


i. Ensure Successful Launch of products:


i. Drive communications strategy and implementation (with regional marketing organization) for the product marketing tools required to drive sales in identified market(s) like Product Brochure preparation. Driving website content, collateral content, sales briefs, fortnightly sales conference call s, quarterly sales training, support for regional sales organization processes


ii. Marketing communication to reach target customers: Establish integrated marketing approach for product launch which includes, without limitation, product, system accessories, support plan, sales operations, technical publications, collateral, sales ready messaging and distinct value proposition, FAQs, pricing, production forecast, competitive differentiation, samples, awareness campaign, and as required channel specific packaging / programs / messaging, training plan , approbations / certifications and listings, and fitment within existing product portfolio


iii. Communicating roadmap throughout the organization to synchronize activities from product development, manufacturing, marketing communications, sales, supply chain


iv. Events: Launching product in test markets, support demonstrations from perspective of planning, messaging, design, setup, installations and feedback


j. Search for potential growth areas & work for the same
