Placement office has a major responsibility to interact with various industrial, management and research organizations in the country with the aim of providing adequate technical exposure, industrial training to the students and also enabling them to get employment in the different organizations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Look after the training and placement activities of students.
Handle entire placement activity right from inviting company officials till receiving appointment letters
Generate vacancies from companies in/around local region through various marketing/ liaising activities
Maintain good PR with clients/companies close liaison with industry for placement of Students
Correspond to prospective companies for interview date and schedule of events.
Invite reputed industries and organizations in the campus of the Institute for the placement of students.
Arrange for interview facilities at the campus and written test etc.
Receive the personnel and provide necessary inputs about the college and to co-ordinate student representatives for smooth functioning at various locations (interview halls, written test halls, canteen etc.)
Collect the appointment letters or correspond to get them as soon as the interview is over.
Collect feedback from the companies coming for placement.
Arrange Job Fairs and Seminars/workshops with prospective employers
Maintain Placement records
Maintain Alumni database and assist them with mid-life placement
Work in consultation with Coordinator Industry Institute Interaction for organizing lectures of professionals from industry.
Arrange Training programmes for soft skills and for interview facing skills for the students using institutional and external expertise.(orient students with interview techniques, soft skills, art of negotiation, CV writing etc.)
o arrange technical training programs by coordinating with various companies to improve overall competency of the students
o organize lectures and workshops for students on career counseling, interview techniques, soft skills development and making familiar with expectations/needs of industrial/professional world
o promote and motivate students to publish technical papers and participate in the technical activities at the national level
o motivate and provide facilities to the students to organize various technical programs to develop overall leadership qualities
Organize the entrepreneurship workshops.
Prepare Brochures for departments and send to prospective companies by specific dates of every year.
Brief students on job market realities, opportunities in the market, etc
Placement officer shall remain updated with student's profile, previous work experience, academic achievements, and other special attriubtes which can match with job requirements.
Skills and attributes
Professionally and actively represent Institutional/organisational standards and ethics at all times in the wider community.
Demonstrated computer literacy, verbal / written communication and time management skills.
Ability to network with employers and create opportunities of employment for students
Ability to work effectively in a co-operative, team environment.
Knowledge and experience
Well-developed knowledge of the local / national / international employment market, employment trends and established business networks.
Demonstrated ability to interview and assess client (jobseeker and employer) needs including the ability to address sensitive and complex issues.
Demonstrated experience in employment related services.
