Job Title: Translator [Gujarati/Punjabi Language]

Job Location: New Mumbai

Department: Translation

Training: Will be provided

Main Purpose of Job

You will be part of a translation team, working closely with your Language Line Manager and project teams. You will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy on time and within budget. You will be responsible for setting the linguistic standards in your team and will assist the Line Manager in ensuring the efficient management of your project team members. You will be responsible for leading translation projects, including planning and managing the work of in-house and freelance translators.

Main Duties

Translation

*Translation of technical and multimedia texts into your native language

*Review of work of other in-house and external translators

*Understanding and following SDL"s linguistic processes and procedures.

*Knowledge of following tools SDLX, Trados,

*Understanding of Translation Memory, Term base, Style guide

*Three to four year experience of translating WebContent, IT products, OSD content

*Producing quality translations within given deadlines

*Liaising with client reviewers on linguistic issues

*Managing terminology effectively

*Using translation tools to enhance quality and productivity

*Linguistic testing of software, help and websites

*Linguistic checking of DTP output

*Linguistic support for graphics, DTP and engineering departments

*Providing full linguistic support for project managers on projects.

Management responsibilities

*Planning and managing translation projects, acting as Lead translator (see 'Lead Translator Project Procedures' document for further details)

*Actively contributing to improvement of systems and procedures
