Urgent Requirement for Counseling and Placement Officer., 2 - 3 years exp, Mumbai

Primary Responsibilities:

Counseling:

To counsel walk - in students regarding courses and program selection, class scheduling and career planning.

Address to calls flowing in for inquiries about various courses.

Should have ability to understand the students requirement, solve their queries efficiently & convince them for a course best suitable.

Other administrative work related with joining of student for a particular course.

Ensuring that fee collection is up to date for the student counselled by him / her.

Plan, Manage and / or participate in Email campaigns.

Ensure that all follow up processes and activities are accomplished according to company standards.

Train new team members according to company requirements.

Maintain and create a positive and energetic work environment.

Help team members organize time management.

Must be able to perform all tasks required by team members.

Internship / Placement:

Identify, research, liaise with companies and organizations for potential placement opportunities

Represents REMI to companies and organizations

Update forms and orientation materials

Assist in representing REMIs internship capabilities to educational institutes and companies

Scans the regional job market continuously for positions appropriate to REMI students

Assists students in identifying and applying for appropriate jobs

Communicate with students to assist with the presentation of CVs and the shaping of student expectations

Match student skills and objectives with workplace requirements

Liaise with potential employers to organize appropriate placements

Arrange and follow-up on workplace interviews

Monitor all aspects of student placements

Organize and conduct orientation briefings for students

Follows up with employers & placed students to assure appropriateness of, and positive outcomes for, placement

Maintains a job-bank of employment opportunities for internships; through job market research and collecting new requirements from existing tie-ups

Maintains close communication with faculty to determine students' employment needs and interests

Assists with re-placement of students as necessary where difficulties are found and not resolved

Conducts student workshops on resume writing and employment preparation

Plan and develop an alumni program

Act as a liaison between alumni and the college

Attends meetings, conferences, training

Corresponds with contacts, and does other job related paperwork

The occupant of this position also performs other duties within the range of his or her qualifications, as assigned

ADMINISTRATIVE


Maintain effective communications with other members of staff, students and companies

Manage student documents and database of placement and student information

Maintain student admission MIS

Submits student admissions report and placement related reports to Center Manager / Business Head

General administrative duties and other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Skilled in IT Microsoft software Word, Excel etc. and good exposure / knowledge of Internet

Exposure in CRM Systems and / or Mass Mailing software is an added advantage

Interpersonal/human relations skills

Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

Ability to make presentations

Ability to counsel and teach students the skills and abilities needed for a successful job search

Ability to interact with a variety of constituencies, including volunteers

Ability to maintain positive approach under pressure is must

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a human resources development or public relations field

Minimum 2 years of successful experience in a position with employment placement and training responsibilities.

Communicate effectively and courteously and maintain good relations with the students, potential employers, and young adults.

Duties require weekend work (weekend wont be fixed as Sundays)

Serve as an intermediary to resolve worksite difficulties of initially placed students, if needed

Persist in placement efforts in difficult cases until the student is successfully placed and remains employed beyond any probationary period involved
