JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Nutrition Counsellor


Chain of Command: Fitness Manager


Department: Fitness


1.1 PERFORMANCE STATEMENT


Job Purpose


It is the role of the Nutrition Counselor to effectively consult, design, assess, complete and oversee a


diet/nutrition guide to the members of Fitness First India Pvt. Ltd. The job functions include administrating,


planning, directing assessing, implementing and evaluating the diet program in order to meet the nutritional and


educational needs of members in Fitness First India Pvt Ltd.


As a Nutrition Counsellor it is vitally important that you plan and conduct nutritional programs to assist in the


promotion of health and control of disease. Nutrition Counselor may also supervise activities of a department


such as working closely with a Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor to provide quality wholesome fitness


counseling to the members of Fitness First India Pvt Ltd.


1.2 PERFORMANCE STEPS


Duty A: Nutrition Counsellor as the diet consultant to the member and client


Ensure that this is in the daily action plan to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional


counseling.


Consult with members existing physicians and health-care reports (if needed) to determine nutritional needs


and diet restrictions of a client.


Advise client on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications and food selection and preparation


Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring


to improve their quality of life.


To sell the Nutrition Program packages to members


Duty B: Ensure effective training occurs in club.


Effectively manage, coordinate and achieve your target number of nutrition counseling session


Work directly with the Fitness Training Manager/Fitness Manager on all issues pertaining to the training and on


going nutrition development & of fitness staff within your club


Actively participate in training workshops run by the Fitness Training manage/Fitness Manager


Maintain and update your own training on Nutrition/Diet including all Fitness First and or related courses.

Ensure you are up to date with all current Nutritional programs and techniques through company-sponsored


events and through self learning & research.


Maintain records of all Nutrition Counseling session in the club on a daily basis


Initiate training at club level as deemed required or as highlighted by your Fitness Manager, through constant


communication with the NFM in terms of the needs of the team.


Initiate your own self-improvement by reading and studying appropriate materials relating to your work tasks.


Be proactive in initiating training sessions and the implementation of new training related initiatives.


Consider and relay to the FM, the feedback on various issues and opinionate as to the necessary changes that


may be required.


Ensure that in the delivery of all counseling sessions that the safety of the members is of paramount


importance.


DUTY C: Perform administration duties to meet with all daily, weekly and monthly


deadlines


Manage day-to-day counseling session within your club to ensure that the daily game plan is followed strictly.


Complete administration and reporting duties according to company policies and procedures within set


deadlines- delegation is acceptable but must always be monitored for accuracy and timely delivery.


Confirm nutrition counseling commission reports and sign off for payment according to company deadlines.


Maintain and update key files.


Duty D: To ensure the delivery of superior member (customer) service and ensure


close cooperation with club staff. Through observation, assist with the following:


Grasp every opportunity to interact with members as the foster the excellent service relation.


Continually educate the members on the floor about nutrition.


Evaluate the success of the implementation and adherence by gaining feedback form members.


Take corrective action when/ where necessary.


Research the feedback / problem / query / request from the floor


Inform Fitness Manager / Assistant Fitness Manager on the above issue


Give a solution
