OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
Applications are invited for the position of Senior Cook, Grade FC04.
This position is within the Central Commissary Unit of the Production Department The position reports to the Sous Chef.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Responsible for the processing of raw material within the designated area of the Kitchen.
-Ensure the food production is as per set standards and procedures in adherence to the product specifications, quality and food safety requirements.
-Ensure that a proper stock rotation is maintained.
-Maintain proper records of production within the section.
-Make sure that all reporting production staff carries out their duties in a set time frame.
-Provide instructions to team members to follow the recipes and methods; keeping wastage to a minimum.
-Comply with the Company Quality and Occupational Health and Safety Policies.
-Apply the Quality Policy and Quality System established in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008 international standards and executes all responsibilities according to the department work procedures while reflecting EKFC Quality Policy.
-Diploma in City & Guilds (NVQ) Cookery / Hotel Management / Cookery certificate.
-Demonstrated hands on experience in a vegetable / meat processing / garde manger section.
-Ability to work and perform under significant pressure in a 24x7 working environment.
-A professional manner with the ability to work under pressure to meet targets and achieve results.
-Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
-Demonstrated ability to maintain constructive relationships with others.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
-Anticipate customer needs; keep customers abreast of relevant changes; distribute helpful information.
-Acceptable standards of verbal and written communication in English.
-Act as a role model and provides effective behavioural examples in order to motivate team members to achieve high levels of performance.
-High level of commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability to change.
