SOFTWARE ENGINEER WASHINGTON, DC

Chemonics seeks a software engineer to develop and maintain the company's IT enterprise-level systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include: Design and develop enterprise-level solutions, collaborating with the application architect; Conduct unit testing and buy-versus-build analysis; Create application development documentation; Participate in IT organizational process improvement initiatives; Work effectively with project staff and clients and ensure that appropriate parties are involved and engaged to achieve project goals; Partner with business and IT leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT capabilities; Identify problems and suggest solutions that the IT department can implement; Champion software engineering best practices; Promote dependability, integrity, and initiative at all levels within the company. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience required; Minimum three years of application development work experience with Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET/C#, and Web Services required; Experience with SQL required; Experience with SDLC and SharePoint preferred; Demonstrated understanding of information systems, business processes, and the key drivers and measures of success for the company; Ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge; Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant activities and resources to produce and take responsibility for results; Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and meetings; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and special initiatives; Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.
