Responsibilities:


Lead the implementation of OS program in South Asia with collaboration with country EHS, sites, BU and AC/E.

o Oversee safety related regulatory development in South Asia and facilitate regulatory compliance at sites & companies by coordinating gap analysis and planning for compliance effort.with stakeholders in countries and sites.

o Overall coordination on incident reporting with external and internal parties, e.g. officials, sub-regional management, production/ construction sites and AC/E to ensure timely and 100% incident reporting.

o Coordinate and implement incident reporting and management process for all injury cases. Act on immediate measures. Implement incident investigation processes and steer root cause analysis. Monitor the follow up and approval status in GID. Coordinate incident flash compilation and distribution.

o Compile and communicate incident statistics, summary and report of South Asia.

o Conduct pre-audit to support production/ construction sites in South Asia to achieve Green rating in the Global GU/RA Plant Audits

o Arrange and conduct audits with sub-regional OS experts, project team, procurement and BU for the production/ construction sites, raw material suppliers and tollers. Initial and coordinate improvement measures with sites and project teams.

o Carry out risk assessment in work place for new processes.

o Join the due diligence in M&A or divestment projects in South Asia to ensure EHS compliance.

o Deliver safety training to respective countries, sites, offices, suppliers and tollers as per requirdments.

o Design and arrange OS activities by cooperating with Corp. Communication unit, e.g. C.A.R.E campaign

o Align with regional and sub-regional strategies to establish and update OS policy, processes, procedures and requirements in South Asia.

o Harmonize, review and maintain OS programs, HIRA, PTW system, PPE, Safety inspection, etc. across the sub-region by considering diversity in legal requirements, complexity of the sites, hazard potential of the production processes and heterogenic safety culture among the countries.

o Establish sub-regional safety training modules. Introduce innovativeness to activate existing OS programs. Create interactive training module and provide trainng to respective countries, sites, offices, suppliers and tollers as per requirements.

o Facilitate best practice and lesson learned sharing in South Asia.

o Establish and implement annual sub-regional OS targets and KPI and responsible for annual evaluation.

o Responsible for personnel development of the OS organization and propose succession plan in South Asia. Motivate, train and coach the OS community at countries and sites to ensure competency.

o Build, lead and develop the sub-regional OS expert team to implement all safety requirements.

o Act as competence center of the sub-region in Occupational Safety and/or RCMS to provide advisory and consultancy services to the sites and Businesses for tollers.

o Liasion with AC/E to ensure compliance to all BASF requrements.

o Sustain and develop collaborative working relations with all internal stakeholders, sub-regional countries, OS expert networks, production/ construction sites, project team, procurement, BU and AC/E.

o Communicate, e.g. audit results and negotiate, e.g. corrective measures, with third party business partners, e.g. construction contractors, raw material suppliers and tollers to ensure BASF requirements will be fulfilled.

o Develop collaborative relations with external Chemical Industry Associations eg. Indian Chemical Council (ICC) etc by leading the local chemical industry to implement safety initiatives by sharing BASF successful practices and providing subject expertise and support.

o Support local Government and statutory Agencies eg. MoEf, PESO etc. in drafting new local regulations related to safety and work safety to serve the best interest of the chemical industry, community and environment in the country of operations.
